Despite facing barriers such as limited access to education, funding, and patent protection, Black innovators created solutions that improved transportation, communication, medicine, and household living. Their work helped move the nation forward while often going unrecognized. From the early days of American industry, Black inventors used creativity and problem‑solving skills to meet real‑world needs.
