The NAACP and It's Purpose

  The NAACP, which stands for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, was created in the early 1900s to help protect the rights and safety of Black Americans. At a time when unfair laws and discrimination were common, the NAACP worked to make sure every person was treated with dignity and respect. The organization brought together people from different backgrounds who believed in fairness and wanted to create a better future for everyone. One of the main goals of the NAACP was to challenge unfair treatment in schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, and public spaces. Many Black Americans faced barriers that made everyday life difficult, and the NAACP stepped in to speak up for those who were not being heard.
